Donna Rae Bartlett Woolf

Dearest Woolf family,

My sincerest condolences to a wonderful family with a most amazing mother~ I will forever remember Donna Rae as my favorite teacher and role model in Young Womens. She had such a way of making all the young women feel that they were her favoirte. She taught with her heart and that smile that touched everyone. I know she is happier than ever, being back with "her Bill." Until you are all together again, may your sweet memories of your wonderful mother sustain you and help you through the hard times... Donna Rae and her family are special to us. Without them we two would not have met. She and Bill were valued friends and neighbors to the Colvins for many years. We are grateful to have known them and the family. We send you our love and sympathy over losing sweet Donna Rae.

I am sorry to miss Donna Rae's viewing and funeral today because she was a light in the lives of my parents, H. Tracy and Ida-Rose L. Hall, and to me, growing up, in Pl. View 1st Ward. She was always so friendly, caring, and grounded in the gospel. She and Bill were those rock solid ones you could always count on. Donna Rae was such a light, bringing creativity, fun, and good common sense to any endeavor.

I especially wanted to be there today to express my condolences to lovely Leslie, who brought me such joy, seeking me out (was it at my own father's funeral?) to share remembrance of when I was her teacher in "M.I.A." and to update me about joyful directions in her life. You, Leslie, are an outstanding living memorial to the good lives of your parents.I know you and your beautiful family will continue to be a great joy in their lives.

Donna Rae was such a favorite with my mother. I can just imagine what a reunion they are all having on the other side. What a blessing the gospel is--that we can have that comfort and assurance, through the Spirit, that our loved ones have just walked through a door into a brighter day.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you as you go through this special time right now. How happy she must be especially to be with your Dad. Thank goodness for the gospel and understanding we have of the whole plan of our Father in Heaven. It is wonderful to watch these young missionaries in the MTC suddenly grasp the glowing significance and importance of it all and their sudden understanding of their part in it all. It truly humbles them as it does us to watch them prepare and leave for their various missions. What a plan. It just has to be so true. (And it is)

My mother, Helen Henderson Walker, loved your mother. May you feel the sweetness of knowing your mother was a valiant servant. My husband and I are presently serving in the New Jersey Morristown Mission. It was good to read that your mother and father were able to serve the Lord several times. I think she was a mother to all of us in the neighborhood! She always had a smile and hug for all of us. She had an abundance of love for everyone, so unconditional. I loved to go to your home to see the latest and greatest home improvement project, the use of color was always smart, creative, and fun. Just like her! She was always one of my favorite people, and a really good friend to my mom. My thoughts are with you during this time. She lived a life that can truely be celebrated.

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Donna Rae. She was my Laurel Adviser so many years ago and I remember how much fun she was with all of us girls. I don't recall any of my leaders except her. She was a delight and I remember that I wanted to be like her when I got to be an adult. She will always have a special place in my heart as someone who influenced me for good during a critical time in my life. She will be missed!
